We are looking for an intermediate Architectural Technologist for a full time position. The successful candidate will be capable of working with the Project Lead, on multiple projects, within a collaborative environment. We are looking for a candidate with the skills necessary to move projects through the permitting and construction phases.

Description of Position:

– Work closely with the Project Lead to develop construction documentation from design drawings and models;
– Produce permit applications in conformance with BCBC, VBBL and municipal zoning bylaws;
– Develop envelope details, construction assemblies and 3D framing models;
– Attend field reviews and prepare site reports;
– Coordinate Architectural drawings with consultants’ documentation and review shop drawings

What we are looking for:

– Diploma or Degree in Architecture/Building Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution;
– Minimum 1.5 years Canadian work experience (BC preferred), and minimum 4 years total experience in Architecture/ Building Technology;
– Good working knowledge of wood-frame construction details, building envelopes and building performance in a coastal climate;
– Solid understanding of local building codes, and an ability to analyze municipal zoning bylaws;
– Field review experience is a strong asset;
– Proficiency in CAD (Vectorworks preferred) and SketchUp are mandatory for this position;
– Experience with V-Ray or other rendering software is an asset but not required;
– Positive and constructive attitude with diligent attention to detail;
– Excellent command of written and spoken English;
– Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada, and must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered with the AIBC.

– Starting salary range $65,000 – $76,000 (higher starting salary offered for Senior Technologist candidates);
